One size does not fit all in reading. A text that is perfect for a 3rd grader might be frustratingly hard for a 1st grader. Our Leveled Stories are carefully graded to ensure students practice with text that matches their ability, helping them build confidence and speed.

How Levels Work

We offer fiction and non-fiction passages organized to help you find the right fit:

• Beginner (Levels A-D):
  Simple sentences, repetitive patterns, and picture support. Great for applying Phonics skills.
• Intermediate (Levels E-J):
  Longer sentences, more complex vocabulary, and introduction to dialogue.
• Advanced (Levels K+):
  Multi-paragraph stories that challenge students with higher-level thinking and inference questions.

Improving Fluency

Reading the same passage multiple times (repeated reading) is one of the best ways to improve speed. These printable stories are perfect for fluency drills.
