Fine Motor Practice with Tracing Worksheets

Before a child can write the letter 'A', they must be able to control a pencil. Our Tracing Worksheets are designed to build the hand strength and coordination (fine motor skills) needed for writing. This is the essential first step in our Writing curriculum.

Stages of Tracing

We guide tiny hands through a natural progression:

  • Lines & Curves:
Tracing straight lines (rain falling), zig-zags (mountains), and loops (bunny hops). This trains the hand for basic strokes.
  • Shapes & Pictures:
Tracing circles, squares, and simple drawings. This adds fun and connects to our Shapes lessons.
  • Letter Tracing:
The final goal. Once line control is mastered, students are ready to trace letters in our Alphabet section.

Pencil Grip

These worksheets are the perfect opportunity to teach children how to hold a pencil correctly (the tripod grip) before bad habits form.
