Ordering Length Activity – Measure and Sort 1, 2, 3 (PDF)

Ordering length challenges students to do two things at once: Measure and Compare. It is the next logical step after learning to use non-standard units.

The “1-2-3” Method In this worksheet, counting the units is just the first step.

• Step 1: Measure the three carrots using the blocks provided.
• Step 2: Compare the numbers (e.g., 2 blocks, 4 blocks, 6 blocks).
• Step 3: Write “1” for the shortest, “2” for the medium, and “3” for the longest.

This activity reinforces number sense and visual discrimination in Preschool Math.
